  • Navi Mumbai International Airport: NMIA, developed by the Adani Group, is projected to handle 90 million passengers and 3.2 million metric tons of cargo annually at full capacity. The airport’s opening has been delayed from the original September 30 date to October 8, 2025.

Political Timing

The inauguration of both projects coincides with the Maharashtra state assembly elections. While this timing has sparked discussions about political motivations, the government maintains that the projects are ready for launch and have been rescheduled to October 8 due to earlier weather-related delays.
